This book, Quantitative Techniques is written in nine chapters for the purpose to give basic understandings about quantitative techniques.

The first six chapters are constructed to discuss about the mathematics aspects of quantitative techniques such as Mathematical Techniques, Differentiation and Integration, Linear Programming, Matrix, Financial Mathematics and Index Number. The remaining three chapters discuss on statistical aspects such as Descriptive Statistics, Probability and Discrete Probability Distribution.

About the Authors

Tan Chai Thing
Tan Chai Thing, Assistant Professor at the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) received her Bachelor of Economics from the UTAR, Master of Economics and Doctor of Philosophy from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She has more than 10 years of teaching experience and published book, journal and newspaper articles.
Kong Jee Kim
Kong Jee Kim is a senior lecturer from the Centre for Foundation Studies, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She graduated with her Bachelor of Degree in Science (Mathematics) and Master of Applied Statistics from the University of Malaya in 2002 and 2004, respectively. She has 17 years of teaching experience in tertiary education and was awarded with “The Best Teaching Awards” in 2017 by UTAR.
Har Wai Mun
Har Wai Mun, senior lecturer at the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) received his bachelor and master’s degree in economics from the National University of Malaysia in 2000 and 2001 respectively. He is co-author of several books, and published numerous articles in various journals, newspaper, periodical and online.
Yap San Lim
Yap San Lim is currently a Mathematics lecturer from Centre for Foundation Studies, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Universiti Malaya in 1995. With more than 10 years of teaching experience in Mathematics, he is passionate and dedicated to inspiring students to learn Mathematics effectively and to love Mathematics.
