William G. “Bill” Borges completed his Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of California-Riverside in 1980. His teaching and research specialties include public policy, business ethics, and the politics of banking and finance. Borges has been a professor at PUTRA Business School since 2012. From 2001-2012 he was a Professor at INTI University, and at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) from 1989-2007. He was also the Dean of the College of Professional Studies at SMSU from 1996-2000, and Vice-President for Graduate and International Programs at the institution from 1998 to 2000. Additionally, Borges has taught and/or lectured at San Jose State University (California), Southwestern University (Texas), and Mara Institute of Technology (Shah Alam).

Borges is co-author of the book Saving the Savings and Loan, published by Praeger Press in 1989. The book chronicles the U.S. and Texas savings and loan crisis of the 1980s. And he is the author of hundreds of columns and articles covering politics, law, finance and business. His columns have been published in the Los Angeles Times, San Jose Mercury, San Francisco Examiner, and, in Malaysia, The Edge, New Straits Times, The Sun, Accountants Today, and Marketeer. Additionally, Borges has published several articles in the Asian Journal of Case Research, of which he is Deputy Editor. On several occasions Borges was honored as “Outstanding Professor” at SMSU, and was voted by students of INTI University their ”Most Punctual” and “Strictest” faculty member.

Borges was born in Los Angeles, California and is married with two children. He is a permanent resident of Malaysia where he has resided since 1999.

 

Lee Sai Leong has more than 20 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has taught a wide range of subjects, including management information systems, management, and statistics. He is currently a member of the faculty of Business and Accountancy at the University of Malaya. His research interests are information technology and business management.

Dr. Nagiah Ramasamy holds a PhD in Management (HRM) from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He has an MA (HRM) from the University of Humberside (UK), a Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice from Lancaster University (UK) and a BA (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Bolton (UK). He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Management Institute (UK) and the Higher Education Academy (UK). In addition he is an Exco Member of the Malaysian Society of Labour and Social Security Law (MSLSSL).

Dr Nagiah has varied work experiences spanning more than 30 years, in both the manufacturing and education sectors. He is experienced in teaching and educational management.   He has taught and learned at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels in Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Australia, the UK, France and Belgium. And he has served as an adjunct faculty member and an external examiner to several foreign universities.

Dr. Nagiah, who has strong research interests in the field of employment relations, has presented papers and published a number of articles and book chapters, both locally and overseas. He is often invited as a speaker at various forums.

Shishi Kumar Piaralal is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and the coordinator for Master of Business Administration at OUM Business School, Open University Malaysia. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Science Malaysia. Previously he was Joint Head of Postgraduate Studies in the Centre of Postgraduate Studies & Professional Development for Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia. His industrial experience includes employment with Marconi Malaysia and Ericsson Malaysia for more than 13 years. His research interests include service recovery, customer loyalty, supply chain management and entrepreneurship. His areas of teaching include Marketing, Management, New Venture Development and Entrepreneurship.

Prof. Dr Mohd Nazari Ismail received his secondary school education at the Malay College Kuala Kangsar. He studied for his `A’ Levels at Poole College of Further Education, England, and subsequently obtained his B.Sc. in Economics (Hon.) from the University of Wales, United Kingdom, an MBA from the State University of New York, USA, and a Ph.D from the Manchester Business School, United Kingdom.

He has published numerous articles in local and international journals and has also authored four books: Transnational Corporations and Economic Development (published by UM Press); Paradox of Faith: Is Islam a Hindrance to Business Success? (UM Press); Perniagaan Antarabangsa (International Business) (Pearson); and The Globalization Debate: A Case of Barking up the Wrong Tree (UM Press).

He has also consulted and provided training programs to a number of public and private sector organizations, including The Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia, Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka, Proton, Matsushita, The Royal Malaysian Police, and the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

He was the 1999 Fulbright Foundation Malaysian Scholar at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and the Fulbright Visiting Specialist at Pfeiffer University, North Carolina, USA, in 2005. In June 2005, he was a visiting fellow at the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies, Oxford, United Kingdom.

Previously he was the Head of the Strategic Planning and Development Unit of the University of Malaya, and the Head of the Department of Business Policy and Strategy, Faculty of Business and Accounting, University of Malaya. 

Currently he is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Accounting, University of Malaya.

Koon Vui Yee is a Senior Lecturer at Sunway University, Malaysia. She teaches management principles to undergraduate students. Prior to joining Sunway University, she taught strategic human resource management, management principles, industrial organizational psychology and compensation at the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business, at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, where she also served as Program Leader of the Economics and Administration Department.

Dr. Koon holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Business Administration, majoring in Human Resource Management, from University Putra Malaysia, did her Master of Management with distinction from University Malaya, and obtained her PhD in Business Administration from Asia e-University (AeU). She is also a reviewer for the International Journal of Human Resource Management and Journal of Contemporary Management Research.

Shahrol Aman Ahmad was born in Kangar, Perlis. He completed his secondary studies at Derma School in Kangar Perlis. He holds a Certificate in Education from Teachers College, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, a Bachelor of Business Administration with honors from Universiti Utara Malaysia, and a Master of Science in Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He served as a teacher at Tun Saban, in Pengkalan Hulu, Perak, for five years, and as a lecturer at Universiti Utara Malaysia Matriculation Centre for five years. He has also served as Chairman of the Department of Business Management for the Faculty of Business Management, Universiti Utara Malaysia. He was the course coordinator for Introduction to Management in the College of Business at Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kedah, and currently is working as the Program Manager for BBA Hons. for Distance Education Program at the Universiti Utara Malaysia Centre for Professional and Continuing Education (PACE).

Ang Eng Sieng is a senior lecturer at Help University. Her teaching and research interests include Human Resource Management, Managing Change and Organizational Behavior.

Eng Sieng’s background includes work as tutor, trainer, consultant and lecturer. Eng Sieng stays active as a Human Resource Management strategist. Her experience includes international teaching assignments in Vietnam, India, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Raja Nerina Raja Yusof received her Ph.D. in Management from the University of Otago, New Zealand, in 2010. Her research interests include International Business Management, focusing on multinational corporations, cross-cultural management, international marketing and Islamic business practices. Her PhD thesis was on the cultural influences (halal consumption practices in Islam) on foreign hypermarket operations in Malaysia.

She serves as an Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of Case Research (AJCR), frequently writes cases for journals and case books, and serves as consultant for external case studies for organizations such as CEDAR (SME Bank) and Lembaga Tabung Haji.

Raja Nerina started her career in year 2000 as a Tutor in the Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer on the faculty and has been seconded to Putra Business School for 2 years, until May 2015.

Dr. Sreenivasan Jayashree holds a PhD in Management (TQM) and an MA (Public Administration) from the University of Madras.

Dr. Jayashree has wide experience and expertise in handling several management subjects, including Strategic Management, General Management, Cross Cultural Management, Global Management and Research Methodology, for undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has widely published in many international Journals and Conference proceedings.

She has published books and book chapters, and has secured many national grants. Her research interests are in the area of waste management, Environmental studies, Knowledge management, Quality management and tourism.

Risidaxshinni (“Risi”) Kumarusamy is a Ph.D. (Management) student at Putra Business School (PBS) on the campus of Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang, Malaysia.  In 2014 she completed her MBA in Human Resource Management from PBS, and in 2012 her BBA in Finance, Investment and Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the United States.

Upon completion of her MBA, Risi won the PBS President’s Award for academic excellence, finishing first in her class, with the highest grade-point average. In 2014 she was a Top Four finalist in the “Harvard Business School Alumni Malaysia MBA Gold Medal Award” competition, and was named Best Presenter at the “National Research & Innovation Conference for Graduate Students in Social Sciences.”

In 2014 Risi co-authored the Putra Human Governance Booklet and also co-authored a case study, “A Higher Education Institution’s Tough Choice: Is Early Childhood Education Enough?” published in the Asian Journal of Case Research (AJCR, Volume 7, number 2). She is currently a content writer for the Putra Business School website.
