About the Authors

William G. “Bill” Borges
William G. “Bill” Borges completed his Ph.D. in political science at the University of California-Riverside in 1980. His teaching and research specialties include public policy, business ethics, and the politics of banking and finance. Borges was a Professor at PUTRA Business School from 2012-2015. He was a Professor at INTI University from 2001-2012, and at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) from 1989-2007. He was also Dean of the College of Professional Studies at SMSU from 1996-2000, and Vice-President for Graduate and International Programs at the institution from 1998-2000. He is the co-author of Saving the Savings and Loan (1989; Praeger Publishers), and the author of Principles of Management (2015; SJ Learning) and Business Research Methods (2017; SJ Learning), as well as the Editor of Economics (2016; SJ Learning). He has published hundreds of articles and columns, in refereed and professional journals, trade and professional magazines, major newspapers, and weekly columns.
Koon Vui Yee

Koon Vui Yee is a Senior Lecturer in Sunway University, Malaysia. She teaches management principles to undergraduate students of all majors. Prior to joining the Sunway University, she taught strategic human resource management, management principles, industrial organizational psychology and compensation at the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business of the Tunku Abdul Rahman University College to undergraduates students, where she also served as Program Leader of the Economics and Administration Department. 

Dr. Koon holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Business Administration majoring in Human Resource Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia, did her Master of Management with distinction from University of Malaya and obtained PhD in Business Administration from Asia e-University (AeU). She is also the reviewer of International Journal of Human Resource Management and Journal of Contemporary Management Research. She is the author of Principles of Management (2015; SJ Learning), a widely used management textbook in Malaysia.

Daisy Mui Hung Kee

Daisy Mui Hung Kee is a senior lecturer in the School of Management at Universiti Sains Malaysia. She obtained her PhD in business and management from University of South Australia’s Graduate School of Business. She also received her Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Management (Hons.) from School of Management at Universiti Sains Malaysia. She has taught organizational behavior, human resource management, business communication, managerial psychology, introduction to management, and leadership at undergraduate and graduate levels. She has received award for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. 

Daisy’s research interests include work values, human resource management, leadership, entrepreneurship and psychosocial safety climate. She has published more than 40 journal papers. Presently, she is an active academician and researcher supervising several MBA, MA and PhD candidates with working experience across diverse industries. She has conducted series of training and research in USM under Professional and Personal Development (PPD) workshop.

Ong Lin Dar
Ong Lin Dar is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya. She has a Bachelor (Hons) of Business Administration from University of Malaya and an MBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia. She earned her doctorate at University of Malaya in 2011. Her teaching and research interests focus on organizational behavior, leadership, and Human Resource Management. Her research has been published in the International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics, South African Journal of Business Management and others. She is the co-author of Leaders of All Time (Partridge Singapore, 2017).
Ng Lee Peng
Ng Lee Peng is currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Business, Faculty of Business and Finance, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kampar, Perak, Malaysia. She obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons), Master of Business Administration, and Doctorate of Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Her research interest is in organizational behavior (e.g. work engagement, work-personal life interface, burnout, stress, pro-environmental behavior, personality etc.). She is also interested in the area of strategic management and international business.
Agnes Tan Siok Inn

Agnes Tan Siok Inn holds a Master of Management from International Islamic University Malaysia and ICSA Graduateship. She specializes in the area of organizational management and behaviors. 

As an academic with more than 10 years’ experience, she actively involves and explores in teaching and learning with different technology-enhanced pedagogies. Her research areas are business management and organizational behavior.

Toh Pei Sung @ Sharon
Toh Pei Sung @ Sharon is a lecturer in Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Her teaching and research interests include Human Resource Planning and Development; Management; Human Resource Management; Organizational Behavior; and Tourism. Her experience includes work as a tutor and research assistant. She has a Master of Human Capital Management degree and received her PhD in Management from Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
Amer Hamzah Jantan
Amer Hamzah Jantan is a senior lecturer teaching Organizational Behavior, Business Communication, Management and Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He currently teaches undergraduate courses in the above mentioned areas. His first degree was in the Teaching of English as a Second Language. He completed his Ph.D. in Management at the Graduate School of Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2012. His current research interests include human resource management, performance management, leadership, policy implementation, organizational learning as well as lifelong learning. Amer currently heads the Executive Program Unit of the Faculty of Economics and Management, dealing with Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Accounting programs for part time working students. He is currently supervising 12 PhD students, 2 MSc student and 5 undergraduate students.
Soo Hooi Sin
Soo Hooi Sin is a senior lecturer at the College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2008 and received her doctor of philosophy in 2012 from UUM. Before joining the faculty of UUM, Dr. Soo was a lecturer at Sunway University. Her research interests include the study of human behavior in organizational settings, leadership, stress, health, and well-being. She has published numerous articles in scholarly journals and regularly participates in international conferences. Dr. Soo teaches undergraduate courses on organizational behavior, leadership, and business research methodology.
Mohammed Abdullah Mamun

Mohammed Abdullah Mamun did Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) in Management and Master of Commerce in Management in the year 1983 and 1985 respectively from the Department of Management, University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh and stood 2nd in First Class in both the degrees. He wanted to start teaching career at the University soon after his Master’s Program, but he had to wait for two years while he was doing career as Management Trainee and Executive in leading business houses in Bangladesh. After that he joined in University Teaching career as Lecturer at the Department of Management, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. During his long teaching career of 27 years, Professor Mamun made significant contribution as he had been engaged in program designing, faculty development, teaching and research material development and resources development in different public and private Universities at home and in abroad. 

Professor Mamun has got international exposure through teaching and research experiences working for leading Universities of Asia Pacific and also has interactions with international experts by attending workshops, seminar and conferences in different countries in Asia and in Europe. He published quality research papers and book in refereed journals and through leading publishing houses both at national and international levels. Professor Mamun developed his teaching and research skills by completing MBA from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium in 1995 and PhD in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from the Department of Management, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh in 2005.  He had different responsibilities as an academic of the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, Curtin University of Technology, Australia (Offshore Campus in Malaysia), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and at the University Utara Malaysia (UUM) over the last two decades. Professor Dr. Mamun has got significant contribution in establishing School of Business for different private Universities in Chittagong, Bangladesh. He also had top management experience by working as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chittagong Stock Exchange, Chittagong, Bangladesh from 2009 to 2011. 

Before joining as Visiting Faculty of School of Business Management, College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in 2014, he was working as Professor and Director, Center for Business Studies, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Currently Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Mamun is attached with the School of Business, Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as Professor.

Law Kian Aun
Law Kian Aun is an Associate Professor on the Faculty of Accountancy and Management at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. He received his Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Finance from City University of New York, his MBA from the University of Hull, his DBA from the University of South Australia, and his PhD in Management and Cultural Studies from University of Malaya. He has taught courses in Business Negotiation, Organizational Behavior, Business Finance, Statistics for Economics and Management, Strategic Management, Research Methods, Business Research Methodology (doctoral level) and Quantitative and Qualitative Methodology (doctoral level). Dr Law is actively involved in social science research, focused primarily on business management and cultural studies. He has published numerous papers in national and international journals and is the author of seven books and many articles. Dr Law has served as a senior certified trainer and consultant, director and trainer, and has trained executives, managers and directors of more than 30 public listed companies in Malaysia. Dr Law is also an active assessment panel and Expert Referee for the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) under the Malaysia Higher Education Ministry (MOHE). He is the co-author of Business Research Methods (2017; SJ Learning).
Dr Tee

Nurturing human potential is Dr Tee’s life aspiration, which drives him to be an academic until today. Dr Tee is currently attached with Business School, Monash University Malaysia. He worked very closely with his students, typically, Gen Ys. He had successfully coached students for international competitions, which won numerous prestigious awards and recognition when he was in Putra Business School. As a certified professional trainer, Dr Tee was the lead facilitator for Leadership Camps. Apart from that, he inspired many post-graduate students to complete their research journey with his series of Graduate-on-Time (GOT) talks which is based on his book entitled “PhD, Anyone?”.

Writing cases is one of Dr Tee’s fortes. He was commissioned to write for the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF), Pearson International Malaysia, and AKEPT Malaysia. Apart from that, Oxford University Publishing (UK) also assigned Dr Tee with the role as case updater. He is currently the Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of Case Research (AJCR), Malaysia; and a Case Reviewer for Asian Journal of Management Cases (AJMC), Pakistan. In 2016, he was appointed as one of the case writing facilitators as well as the grant assessors for the Case Writing Grant Scheme (CWGS) of the Ministry of Education Malaysia.

Dr Tee obtained his PhD in Management Communication from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He lectures Management Communication, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the undergraduate, MBA and Theory of Management at the MSc and PhD.

Hossein Nezakati

Hossein Nezakati (Ph.D.) was born in Iran (1964). He graduated in Experimental Sciences (1983); Achieved to be selected as Pilot Cadet in Iranian Air force for two years (1985); Bachelor Degree in English Translation (1992); Master Degree in International Marketing (2000) and Ph.D. in Marketing Management (2004). He interred in the world of Management and Business as General Manager in one of the pioneer continuous paper manufacturing company in Iran (1991-1997). He built a strong relation with different Chamber of Commerce, NGOs, academic and non academic foundations as committee and council member. He had a precious opportunity to made Business Solution Consultancy with more than 30 top level companies in Iran and Middle East as Deputy of public relations and Board of Directors Consultant in Industrial Managers Association of Iran (2002). The Industrial Managers Association (1979) is now becoming the biggest association in the private sector, with more than 2000 members. 

Hossein started his lecturing in Management, Marketing, International Business and Human resource courses in different Institutes and Universities (1997). He is a Faculty member of Central Tehran Branch and in four other Islamic Azad University branches in Iran and invited as part time or visiting lecturer (2002). Hossein was the Chairman of Interview Committee for Islamic Azad University (IAU) and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) of Cyprus joint Program at Ph.D. level and M.S. Degree (2006). He was Academic Deputy Dean in Faculty of Economics and Management, Tehran Central Branch, Islamic Azad University (2009). He has promoted his international academic career by moving to Malaysia and joining with Universiti Putra Malaysia as Senior Lecturer (2009). He honored different prizes and awards such as Excellent Service Award in UPM (2012). His consultant group in University – SME corporation program took first prize in UPM (2010 and 2013). Hossein has more than 100 academic publications and participating in almost 130 final year projects, dissertations and theses as Supervisor, Committee member, Mentor, Reader and Examiner. He is collaborating with more than 20 international journals as Reviewer or editor (2008). He has a lot of experiences as Conference organizer, Training programmer, scientific and technical committee member (2002). He was invited by many conferences, Seminars and workshops as lecturer and Key tone speaker in different countries such as Australia (2009), USA (2015). He was involving in accreditation audit of UPM-Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) program (2012). Hossein was a member of Malaysian Institute of Management (2010), currently a Committee Member of Case Writers’ Association of Malaysia (2011) and Council member of Human Behaviour academy – UK (2014), Technical Committee of Coding Standard “General Principles and Criteria on Sustainable Development” in Malaysia (2016).

Seth J. Borges
Seth J. Borges graduated from Northwood University in 2014 with a double major in International Business and Management, and is currently working on his Master of Business Administration degree through Western Governors University, USA. His studies focus on sales, customer service, and worker empowerment. Currently he is employed by Enterprise Holdings.
Shishi Kumar Piaralal
Shishi Kumar Piaralal is a Director/Senior Lecturer at Tanjong Malim Learning Centre, Open University Malaysia. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Science Malaysia. He previously held Joint Head of Postgraduate in the Centre of Postgraduate Studies & Professional Development for Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia. His industrial experience was with Marconi Malaysia and Ericsson Malaysia over 13 years. His research interest includes service recovery, customer loyalty, supply chain management and entrepreneurship. His major areas of teaching include Marketing, Management, New Venture Development and Entrepreneurship. He is the co-author of Principles of Management (2015; SJ Learning).
