About the Authors

Har Wai Mun
Har Wai Mun is a senior lecturer in Economics at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and his Doctor in Philosophy (PhD) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). His writings have been published online, and in magazines, newspapers, journals and books.
Wee Chu Kok

Wee Chu Kok is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance, and Business, as well as the Principal Lecturer at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) in Kuala Lumpur. With an impressive 26 years of teaching experience, and as a leader in curriculum development, Mr. Wee provides guidance in the review and revision of academic curricula for programmes, ensuring the quality and relevance of syllabi and courses.

Mr. Wee, a seasoned educator, holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Malaya. His extensive teaching background, coupled with his dedication to academic leadership, has contributed significantly to the educational landscape of TAR UMT. Mr Wee specialises in the field of Behavioural Economics.

Lee Hui Shan

Lee Hui Shan is an Associate Professor at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia. She is a trainer for Certified Financial Planner and has successfully trained many candidates to be professional financial planners. She has published over 300 journal articles, conference papers, and newspaper articles. Her columns appear in The Star, Sin Chew Daily, Nanyang Siang Pau and Oriental Daily. Additionally, she serves as a visiting professor for several international universities.

She has won numerous awards, such as the Best Researcher Award, Best Presenter Award, Best Paper Award, and Teaching Excellence Award. Furthermore, she has secured more than 30 research projects and consultancy projects from government, international and national institutions. Several postgraduate students under her supervision have successfully obtained early graduation. Her research interests include Efficiency and Productivity, Management, Financial Inclusion, Insurance, Financial Economics, Environmental Economics, and Corporate Governance.

Mui-Yin Chin
Mui-Yin Chin currently serves as the Head of the Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research and holds the position of Associate Professor at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT). She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Malaya. To date, she has authored a substantial number of journal articles, with a significant portion of them being indexed in WOS or Scopus journals. In addition to her journal publications, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chin has contributed to various book chapters in the field of economics. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr Chin is actively participating in external research and consultancy projects.
Chen-Chen Yong
Chen-Chen Yong is currently Professor at Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Malaya. Her research interests include labour economics and applied economics. She has published several papers in international journals such as Singapore Economic Review, International Trade and Economic Development, Chinese Business Review, Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies, Journal of Developing Areas, International Journal of Economics and Management and so on. She has undertaken several consultancies for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), PE Research Sdn Bhd, Talent Corp Malaysia, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Institute of Labour Market Information and Analysis (ILMIA), Economic Planning Unit, Malaysian Science and Information Technology Centre (MASTIC).
Tan Yan Teng
Tan Yan Teng is a lecturer at the Faculty of Business & Finance, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. She obtained her Bachelor of Economics (Hons) and Master of Economics from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Her outstanding performance in teaching Economics at UTAR earned her recognition. She had a particular interest in tourism economics, environmental economics, and financial economics. She has also made notable contributions to the field through her publications in SCOPUS-indexed journals. Her expertise in economics and her exemplary teaching methods are a testament to her professionalism and commitment to the field.
Noraina Mazuin Sapuan
Noraina Mazuin Sapuan is a senior lecturer in Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Malaysia. She did her undergraduate and Master study in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) majoring in Economics, and Doctor of Philosophy (Economics) at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). She has vast experiences in teaching and research. Her area of interests is in Applied Economics, Islamic Finance, Environmental Economics and Socio-Economics Impacts. She also has secured numerous internet and external grants on the area of Public Finance, Economic and Social Impact Assessment, Waqf Management and Retirement Planning in Malaysia.
Husna Hashim
Husna Hashim holds a Bachelor in Economics from Al-AlBayt University, Jordan, and a Master of Economics from University of Malaya. Currently she is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Industrial Management, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). She has focused her teaching on fundamental subjects such as the Principles of Economics, Islamic Economics and Finance, Basic Financial Management and also Marketing courses. Her research interest includes Halal economy, Islamic Finance, Zakah and Waqf, Social enterprise and entrepreneurship, and ethical business.
Lee Sin Yee
Lee Sin Yee, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She holds a Ph.D. in Economics, which obtained from the esteemed Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Her research and academic focus revolve around the fields of financial and economic development, as well as international trade, including Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
Foo Lee Peng
Foo Lee Peng holds the position of Associate Professor at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology (TAR UMT). Additionally, she acts as the Chairperson for the Centre for Business and Policy Research (CBPR). Her primary research focus lies in the fields of international economics and small and medium enterprises.
Hafirda Akma Musaddad
Hafirda Akma Musaddad is an accomplished academic with a Ph.D. in Economics, from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok Kedah. She is a former lecturer at Department of Management, Faculty of Management, and Information Technology (FPTM), Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from UUM in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Her research interests revolve around applied and Behavioural Economics. Her fields of expertise are also closely tied to the real estate market, the affordability of housing, poverty, income inequality, and economic expansion.
